We’re going to be sparring and drilling once again this Friday at MacFarlane Park (here) . Times will be 6 PM – (when we’re beat up and tired). We will be on the tennis courts past the end of the parking lot.
Mike has bought Purpleheart Amoury dussacks and a leather buckler to supplement our own garage-made dussacks, which are dying. Since it’ll be our first practice with the Purpleheart dussacks, they will be the featured weapon this Friday. The instruction will be on basic to intermediate knowledge of the weapon — guards, primary strikes, and some techniques. We will be trying 2 on 1 sparring for some fun as well.
To close out the night, we will be using the Rawlings synthetic longswords for light non-cooperative sparring with a emphasis on using specific techniques chosen prior to starting for each person.
